Woman Pleads For Retention Of Farm
WELLINGTON, Oct. 18. The allegation that she Was virtually being disinherited, was made in a petition presented in the House of Representatives this afternoon by Mr McLagan, member for Riccarton, on behalf of Mrs Patrieia Mary Ryan, of Tai Tapu. Her prayer was that her land be not taken under the Servicemen 's I Settlement Act for rehabilitation purposes. The petition said that the Crown had taken, under its powers, her 84 acre farm and dwelling at Lincoln. The only Other property she owned was one of 99 acres and she felt it unfair that her small pi'opeity should be taken when there Were so many other people with larger holdings who were being left undisturbed. Mrs Ryan said that, as the property had been left her by her father, she was virtually being disin* heritecl. I The petition was referred to the I lands committee.
