Vyshinsky Talks Of Russia And Atomic Secret

Received Wednesdav. 12.25 p.m. NEW YORK, Oct. 18. The Soviet Foreign Minister. Mr. Andrei Vyshinsky, replying to a question at a Press conference today, said. "TJie Soviet Union has atomic weapons and has had them since 1947. "When the former Foreign Minister, Mr Molotov. said there was ' no such t.hing as the atomic energy secret. the B.B.C. and someone else •said that it was a bluff. "That bluff happens to be a reality, as Russia has had it in her possession since 1947." Mr. Vyshinsky said that the Soviet TJnion stood firm for the probibition of the atomic bomb and international control of atomic energy. "This is rather a-binding stajement on the Soviet Government."
