College Breaks Away From Horowhenua Rugby

"It is useless tb go on arguing wibh coilege. If it -wants to go to Wellington to play then we should let them. We won't lose the boys, because after they leave coliege i.hey will probably play in the district," said the president of the Horowhenua Rugby Union, Mr. R. L. Robinson, at a speeial meeting of the committee in Levin last night. He was commenting on' a letter received from the principal of the Horowhenua Coliege, Mr. N. A. Bytne, who asked that the rugby union make a decision one way or the other in order that the coliege could arrarige with the Wellington Secondary Schools'- Union before the beginning of the season for the inciusion of Horowhenua in its competitions. Mr. A. Haley said that the coilege wished to make a link with the greater' Wellington secondary schools. This would ease things considerably and make possible matches on Saturdays instead of during the week. There was no ulterior motive behind the application. Members of the committee expressed .the opinion that if coliege wanted to change it should be allowed to do so. There * was no point in trying to hold it. When put to vote permission was granted.
