Rain Did Not Deter Levin Tennis Club

Although the state of the weather did not permit the commencement of play, the Levin Tennis Club was not deterred by the - rain and held its official opening on Saturday. The season was officially declared open when Dr. S. J .Thompson orderer the club pennant ,to be raised by the club captain, Mr. L. Hewett. The patron, Professor F. P. Wilson, when giving members an address on the rudiments of tennis, stressed the point that all, regardless of age, should take special notice of what could be learnt from the more experienced players, and those who were in positions to give advice. At the conclusion of the ceremony, afternoon tea was provided by the women members of the club. The Caledonian Tennis Club's official cpsning, . which was to have been held on Saturday afternoon, was postponed in view of the ba'd weather. It will now be held this Saturday.
