SYDXE^, Oct. 12. Damage estimated at £60,000 waeaused by a spectacular (ire which broke outAn an R.A.A.F. store in the suburb of liegent. 's Park this morning. A series of violent explosions rocked nearby suburbs, and the flames could been "seen 20 miles. Explosions from bu'rsting chemieal containers were heard eight miles away. ■ Tlie fire occurred in the medical and adniinistration section of the stores depot, and was not noticed until the flames burst tlirough the roof and leapt 300 feet in tlie air. An oxygen cylinder was blown through the roof d'f the medical store and penetrated a wall 100 yards away. Other explosions blew out the walls of the building. Stone jars* containing chemicals burst like bombs adding to the liazards of tlife firemen, wlio took grave risks in isolating the fire. * They were able to save haif of the main store, but the headquarters and administration section was gutted.
