Received Tuesday, 7 p.m. LONDON, Oct. 11. A courageous and iruaginative nationwide appeal for greater .inaustrial production, was urged by Mr. Bam Watson, chairman of the Labour Party and secretary of the Durham area o± the National Union of Mineworkers, in an interview with the Yorkshire Bbst. "1 am confident that the nation, and particularly the workers in industry, are waiting for a bold and courageous lead from the Government and trade union leaders, " he.said. "We need something to fire the imagination of the workers, something to bring lionie to them the harsh realities of the country's economic plight. " Mr. Watson, who recently announcea an organised drive for greater proproduction in the Durham eoalfied, said he had alreadv secured a very encouraging response. lle was concentratiug upon persuading more pits to work a voluntary Haturday morning shift. U all pits in the Durham lield could be persuaded to do this production could be increased by 250, UUU tons in six months.
