DOLLARS LOST TO BRITISH TREASURY
LONDON, Oet. 10. More than £50,000,000 worth of doilars has been lost to the British Treasurv because some London merchants have exported diamonds and pearls to Xew York by way of the British Post Office in Tangier, says the Daily Express' Tangier correspondent. While the Bank of England received sterling for these exports, the sellers in London are known to have been paid in doilars after the goods reached Anierica. The scale of this evasion of the j exchange control regulations has so i alarmed the British Treasury that Jt has sent ofiicials from London to study this method of trading in Tangier which is an international free-money citv.
