WELLINGTON, October 7. With the majority of the horses eompeting tomorrow engaged at Trentham the following weekend wide interest is bemg taken in the Masterton Club's meeting at Opaki. This fixturedias always been looked upon as a rehearsal of wh,at to expect at Trentham the following week when the Wellington Racmg Uub will open its three days spring, meeting. Form is well represented and should prove a 1'airly reliable guide tomorrow. Other meetings with horses running also engaged .at Trentham: are Auckland, Waipukurau and South Canterbury. Form at these fixtures will also be followed with interest.
The Masterton Cup, which has drawn a splendid class field, looks very open, with such good form. horses as Leyma, Liebestraum, Merry Robin, and Royal Victor engaged besides ' improvers close to top form such as Welcome Guest, Renowned, Lord Holland, Beau-Or and Beau Bijou.
