Coroner Warns Rabbiters

MASTERTON, Oct. 7. (At the inquest yesterday on Robert John Reid, a rabbiter, the coroner, Mr. J. H. Taylor, found that death was caused by the accidental inhalation of chloropicrine fumes. He added a rider suggesting that rabbiters in such operations wear a respirator to eliminate the inhalation of risk Medical evidence showed that Reid told the doctor he was careless in using the gas and spilt some on his clothes. •Dr. Janet Brown, of the Health Department, said that because of the leakage possibility of rubber, tubing she did not consider the apparatus used in forcing gas into the burrows suitabie, Reid, the rabbiter for -the Wairarapa Eas't Rabbit Board, used a sheep drench gun connected by rubber tubing to a metal gas container.
