Eeceived Monday 7.55 p.m. SYDNEY, Oct. 3. In heavy seas yesterday, a doctor was transferred by breeches buqy from the New Zealand cruiser BellOna to the frigate Eotoiti, to attend a seaman who was seriously ili. The Eotoiti, arrived in Sydney this morning after steaming at full speed for 20 houra through extremely bad weather. Before the ship had tied up, Seaman A. J. Eowe, of Auckland, -was placed in a waiting Navy ambulance and rushed to hospitai. He was taken with severe abdominai pains two days ago. When lie appeared tq be- getting worse, the frigate- signaiied- the Bellona and the squadron medi eal officer made the crossing in a breeches buoy, He diagnosed a ruptured appendix. Eowe was operated upon today in a Sydney hospitai and his condition is stated to be satisfactorx.
