Farewell Social Evening

An enjoyable time was spent onThursday evening last when members and friends of the Otaki Greyhoun-d Club gathered to farewell a popular member, M:rs. E. Dalton, who has returned to Petone. Dancing was enjoyed by all and items were given by the talented Murray family. Mr. P. J. Brunell, on behalf of members, expressed regret at losing their young member, but :he wished her good luck and happiness in her new sphere, adding that at any future gathering M:rs. Dalton would be made very welcome if in Otaki. Mr. Brunell then asked Mrs. Dalton to accept a paua bracelet and a bouquet as a small token of friendship from club members. Mr. Brunell called on Mrs. Burterton to come forward aird, she was welcomed back to Otaki from her trip overseas and presented with a bouquet. The two lovely bouquets were given to the Club by Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Gardiner, of Otaki Railway, to whom the club is very grateful. An enjoyable evening came to an end all too soon.
