The evidenee' disclosed that Arrogant,' in going for an opening, clipped the heels of the horse immediately in front of it and nearly fell. . In the same race the falling of Barber, rider of Pictagain, wasfound to be 'due to the* horse slipping and unbalancing Barber, who suffered a harmless fall. L. Allan, owenr of Brilliance, was fined £5 for failing to notify a joint interest in Brilliance. An ihquiry 'was held into the falling of Elite during the running of the Otaki Hack Handicap. After hearing the evidence of a patrol steward, riders and others, the inquiry was adjourned sine die, pending' . a statement from Blanche, the rider of Elite. The doctor reporte'd that the boy was resting and suffering from facial injuries ohly but that he would be furthem; examined before being allowed proeeed home. •
