Personal. x Mrs. H. Brunton, of Main Street, left recently on a visit to Aus-> tralia. Mrs. P. Temuera, of- Mill Roard, is visiting relatives in the Timaru district. Mrs. R. Wood, of Bell Street is visiting Christchurch for a golden wedding celebration. Mrs. R. Eaton, of Bell Street, is spending a holiday in Hawke's Bay, visiting Hastings, Napier and Dannevirke among other places. Mrs. S. Broadway, of Rangiuru, who has been an inma'te of the Palmerston North Hospital for quite some time, is now reported to be making steady progress. Hopes are entertained that she will shortly be able to leave her bed. Jockey's Nasty Fall. . When the field for the Otaki Hack Handicap turned inito the straight at Saturday's meeting at Otaki, Elite fell and her rider, L. Blanche, was thrown heavily and struck by a foliowing horse. Blanche was given imme'diate attention by the ambulance men who were foliowing the race and was removed to the casualty room where medical examination revealed that he was not seriously injured though he received a fractured nose and concussion. He was later admitted to the Palmerston Nocrth Hospital. Blanche is a son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Blanche, of Lupin Road, Otaki.
