Tfie fire occurred in the wall behind a combination gas and chip heater. The wall plates were well alight and the flames were beginning to encroach. on the ceiling when the brigade arrived. Brigadesmen broke through the outer asbestos wall boarding to reach the flames, which they quickly extinguished with bucket ■ fpumps.
