New Zealand Interest In Memorial Gates
— — WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. Representative3 of New Zealand, Britain, Australia and Canada will gather today at the Royal Canadian Air Force Station at Trenton, not far from Ottawa, for a ceremony of particular significance to the people of the British Cominonwealth. The ceremony will be the presentation of 'four beautifully wrought iron gates to the B.C.A.F. and the people of Canada, fxom the' Goverhments and peoples of Britain, New Zealand and Australia. The memorial gates are to commemorate the partnership of the four countries in the wartime Commonwealth air training plan and the fine service of the young men who trained under the plan and so helped tb bring victory to the Allied cause. New Zealand's representative at the ceremony will be the New Zealand •High Commissioner at Ottawa, Mr. James Thorn, who will read a special message from the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, and Air ^ommodore J. L. Findlay, head of the new joint staif xhission at Washington.
