!Mrs. D. A. Fitzgerald, president of the Shannon Women's Insti-1 ' tute, presi'ded over a good attendance of members at the September meeting held reeently. The bring-and-buy stail brought in a satiisfactory sum for the general fund and the president expressed thanks to members and friends for -their loyal support. Letters of thanks for food parcels have been received from England. It was decided to discuss the details of arrangements for the annual rose show at the next general meeting, when it is hoped that the Dominion secretary (Mrs. Horn) will be the guest speaker. The usual eompetitions were hel'd and the following are the results: — Bloom: Mrs. Roberts 1, Mrs. W. Radford 2, Mesdames Tremewan and Thorne 3 (equal) . Cluster: Mrs. C. Stern 1, Mrs. Roberts 2, Mesdames Tremewan and Thorne 3 (equal) . Shrub : Mrs. J. A. Esuston 1, Mrs. Tremewan 2, Mesdames Roberts and C. Stern 3 (equal). Apron: Mrs. A. Richards 1.
