Remarks Were Wrongly Attributed
CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 26. When the South Island Motor Union was discussing the suggestion of the Oommissioner of Transport, Mr, G. L. Laurenson, that motorists involved in accidents to pre-school children should be deemed guilty oi negligence until they proved their innocence, the retiring president, Mr W. R. Carey, said: "I admire an efiicient public service but I firmly believe that it should take direction from the public as a whole. 1 think the Oommissioner forgets him self. " In the Press Association repor! of the discussion as published in some newspapers last Saturday, these re marks,, were wrongly attributed to Mi W. H. Brown, president of the North Island Motor Union.
