C McGarthy (Auckland) 8.12 2 on poinls; W. Patterson (Hawke's Bay) 8.13 beat C. S. Hay (Ashburton) 8.112 on points; O. Smith (Taranaki) 8.92 beat P. Saunders (Wellington) 8 132 on points. Light weight: First round, C. Ball (Manawatu) 9.62 beat B. Edin- (Greymouth) 9.8 on points; F. Wilso.u (Wairarapa) 9.32 beat R. Methven (Auckland) 9.72 on points after the judges had disagreed; R. Elley (Wellington ) 9.9 beat J. Westhall (Hawke's Bay) 9.7 on points; J. Barndon (Hutt Valley) 9.9 knocked out C. Copestake (Taranaki) 9.82 in the first round; R. Ellery (Timaru) 10, the referee stopping the bout in the first round after Ellery had been down for eounts of eight and two; B. Shaw (Ganterbury) 10.12 beat M. McMillan (Waimate) 10.12 on points; B. Cabill (Hutt Valley) 10.12 beat Z. Unkovitch (Southland) 10.12 on points; J. Grant (Ashburton) 10.6 beat B. Frew (Wanganui) 10.62 on points. Middleweight: First round, J.
