Inter-Provincial Women's Golf To Auckland
V ' . 1 — - . TAUMARUNUI, Sept. 22. The North Island inter-provincial finals between teams representing Auckland and Manawata, were played on the Tarrangower course at Taumarunui to day in beautiful weather. Several topranking North Island golfers took part and some fine golf was seen. Auckland won narrowly by five matches to four, Miss M. Hodges and Mjrs; J. Ball had three birdies eaeh in their match whicb was closely fought, Mrs. R. S. Fuller-ton-Smith two birdies in her game with Mrs. G. Hollis. Results (Auckland players mentioned first) : — Eoursomes: Mrs. D. Steele and Mrs. G. Hollis lost to Mrs. J. Ball and- Mrs. R. S. Fullerton-Smith 1 down, Miss R. Hodges and Mrs. Henley defeated Miss J. Duncan and Mrs. J. Cliff 2 and 1, Mrs. R. G. Lewis and Miss M. Hughes lost to Mrs. W. Brown and Mrs. M. Towler 8 and 2. Singles: Miss R. Hodges defeated Mrk J. Ball- 2 and 1, Mrs. D. Steele defeated Miss J. Duncan 4 and 3, Mrs. G. Hollis lost to Mrs. R. S. FullertonSmith 3 and 2, Miss. M. Hughes lost to Mrs. J. Cliff 1 dowia; Mrs. W. Henley defeated Mrs. M.
