STRONG PAKISTAN PROTEST AT INDIAN DEVALUATION

Received Friday, 11.30 a.m. KARACHI, Sept. 22. Pakistan is sending a stronglyworded note to India protesting against the devaluation of the Indian rupee, it was authoritatively stated tonight. TJnder the India-Pakistan Agreement neither contracting party could change its currency without coiisulting the other. Trade with India was at a stand-st-ill tonight. Pakistan banks will open tomorrow after their fourday holiday, but will not transact any business in rupees as arrangements with the Rcserve Bank of India for their purchase and sale have not yet been completed.
