AYELL-TNGTO^r, Sept. 21. Whpn Messrs C. TI. Clmpman and J. H. Collins were before the Wellington Labour Rephesentation f'ommittee tonight as nominees for selection as Labour candidate for Wellington Central, Mr. Collins made a dramatic laetniinutc withdrawal. Ho is reported to have expressed his disgust at "intriguing" within the trade union movemenx. over the selection. Mr. Chapman, wno was then the only remaining nominee, Was declared selected as the candidate. His name will go to the national executivp of the Party for endorsempnt. Mr. Chapman is sitting member. When approaehed tonight, Mr. Collins, who is secretary of the L.R.C., said: "A reBolution was passed that no publicity be given to tliis mqeting. TE'prefdxft, I bave nothing to say.'*
