Trout For Chathams.
Brown trout fry are to be sent to the Chatham Islands for liberation in local streams there. When this decision was made at a meeting of the Wellington Aeclimatisation Society following representations from Mr. G. M. Hutton, it was also agreed to investigate the „| possibility of releasing rainbow fry there. Mr. Hutton guaranteed to meet the cost of transporting and liberating the fry. Air Station Closes. The Royal, New Zealand Air Force Station at Mangaroa, near Upper Hutt, known within the service as No. 2 stores depot, closed down yesterday. It will pass from the control of the Air Department. This was announced last evening ■ by the Minister of Defence, Mr. Jones, who said all buildings at Mangaroa would - be declared surplus , to R.N.Z.A.F. requirements. The whole camp would pass to the Army, but one of the large stores would he made available to the Pubhc Wotks Department.
