AMERICAN IMPORTERS WANT N.Z. GOODS
AUCKLAND, Sept. 20. Witbin 24 hours of the announcement of Britain 's pound devaluation, American importers showed renewed interesl ' in New Zealand markets. A few Auck-x land firms have reeeived cabled inquiries about delivcry dates and quan- r tities of a limited range of products I marketable in the United States and Canada. Exporters are keenly awaiting an indication of the prices their goods will bring on the Ameriean markett Yesterday 's rise in wool prices at the I Sydney saies, Ifas cansed merchants to expect that the same will happen here. There are good opportunities also for New Zealand to increase exports of hides and skins but at the moment there is no surplus of these two line:: for export exceptiug a few bobby calf skins.
