Levin Little Theatre To Stage Show

The- legitimate theatre in Levin - has been kept steadily alive in great part by the Levin, LLttle i Theatre Society (formery' the Levin Playreaders) . That there fs a real need for theatre in" Levin is amply borne out by the ever- ! growing audiences attending the 1 monthly reheatsed readings and . ! the encouraging response to each year's major production. This year the society, confident that the public of Levin and district is theatre-minded, and as a meaps of expressing iis appreciation for the suppor-t that this town has shown it in the past, has embar-ked upon "a.n ambitious firogramme.^ Under the producersubsidy scheme ' maugurated- b'y Lhe New Zealand Drama Counpfi, the society has' been very fortunate in securing the se'rvices of Mr. Arnold Goodwin, from Auck- • land, to produce "Fools Rush In" as its 1949 production. MF. Goodwin's interest in 'stage wprk and his butstanding reputation as a producer are well known throughr out the country. As the best possible piace to stage "Fools Riish In," afid having in mind the comfort of its audiences, the society has. seeured the Regent Theatre for two nights, Monday and Tuesday, October 10 and 11. Already an experienced cast has been worMng hard . and rehearsals are in fun swing. There is no doubt that this will be a long-remembered two nights' en~ terLainment.
