Personal. , Mrs. E. Egdell and her daughter, Miss Rose Egdeil, of Tasman Beaoh, leave by the Tamaroa on Wednesday for an extended trip to England. They expect to be away for 12 months at least. On arrival they will be met by the renowned singer, Mr. Inia Te .Wiata, who is Mrs. Egdell's nephew. Church Bazaar. The annnual bazaar conduetea by the All Saints' Ladies' Guild will be held in the Anglican Hall on Friday, when many useful and valuable articles will be offered from the various stalls. On this day the Plunket creche will operate' in the Druids' Hall, Aotaki Street. s Personnel Of Deputation. The deputation of business men whioh waited on the Otaki Borough Council last week comprised Messrs Barker, Connor, F. Gardner, R Henderson, W. McBeth, L. G. McDonald, D. Murphy, D. Pacey, J. Rountree, F. Rule, H. Taylor, A. Watt, A. D. Webster, Wihis, E. Wilton and H. Wylie. State School Gala. The gala to be held in connection witlfb the Otaki State School improvements project is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Octoher 8. A meeting of all persons interested and willing to help will take place at the school tomorrow night at 7.15 p.m., when a plan of campaign will be further discussed.
Hockey Shield On. View. The handsome shield recently won by the Rahui men's team is on view in "The Chronicle" window at Otaki. This is the first occasion since the trophy was donated in 1929 that it has been won by an Otaki team, and Rahui I deserve the congratulations freely j offered them. Te Horo and Rovers (Levin) have been the» previous holders.
