New Criminal Gang Baffles Sydney Police
SYDNEY, S$pt.-19. Tke police are eoncerned at the success of a new type of criminal called "cleanskins" beeause it is believed they have only recently taken to erime and therefore have no criminal . reeords. The police believe that the criniinals, who are well organised, with a clever espionage system, gained experience with explosives during the war. They are apparently at home in racing cireles, judging by the number of coups perpetrated on racing identities before big meetings. The usual technique of the gang is to raid a home or an office. and blow or remove the safe. In one haul the criniinals got £230(1. 'Exactly the righf amount of explosive was used to remove the safe door, and the charge was exploded by a cable connected to a power p.oint.
