Death Follows Smash At Level Crossing

INVERCARGILL, Sept. 18. Fatally injured in a collision with a train at Moore 's Road interestion, Waikiwi, on Saturday morning, a car passenger, HAROLD HALLIGAN, a farmer, aged 60, died at the Southland Hospital on Saturday evening. Another occupant of the car, Edward Hilton, aged 69, of Waikiwi, was also admitted to hospital with serious injuries. Mr. Halligan is a well known bowler and sportsman. In an earlex accident, James Sinclair, a passenger in a truck which capsizea at One Tree Point at 1.40 a.m. oh Saturday, was also seriously injured and admitted 'to hospital with two others whose condition was reported to be satisfactory. The driver and three women passengers escaped unharmed.
