Pcrson&l > Mr. W. ("Pop") Murcott, father of Mrs. J. Wastie, of Tasman Beach, who had been in failing health for some time, passed away at the Palmerston North ospital last Thursday. Card Series Finalised. Th*e-; eard "evenings run in connection. with the State School gala appeal were continued at the Druids' Hall on Saturday night, when the first series' was conclude'd. Points prizes were won by Mrs. E. Smith and Mr. A. Hobson, and prizes for the night by Mrs. W. Houghton, Mrs. S. Merwood and Mr. E. T. Bartosh (firsts) and Mrs. H. Mathie and Mr. J. Mudge (seconds). Local Rugby Success. Playing a friendiy game with a visiting team of Welhngton juniors at the Otaki racecourse on Saturday, Rahui juniors added another victory to their imposing record. Tries by K. Wilton (2), S. BeU and L. Giddens, an'd a penalty by R. Giddens, who was also successful in converting three of the four tries scored, gave Rahui 21 pOints. The game saw two evehiy matohed sides take the field and the visitors were successful in scoring 12 points.
