HAWERA, Sept. 16. "The increase in car conversions has been going on too long," said the pre8ident, Mr. W. H. Brown (Manawatu) when the annual confereco of the North Island Motor Eni°n Hawera yesterday decided to recommend suggestions brought forward by a subcommitee on car conversions to the Minister of Justiee in dealing with offepders. In the report of the sub-committee, Mr. F. G. Farrell (Auckland) raeommended: (a), a minimum penalty- for car conversion, except in the case of a first offender; (b), that a convicted person be compelled to make good any damage caused in the manner of a flne; (c), that a convieted porson be prohibited from holding a liceBSe fqr. a period of two years.
