. AUCKLAND, Sept. • 14. • Wanganui beat. Auckland by 19 points to 10 today in the first representative Rugby match to be played between the two provinces in Auckland for 16 years. Thirteen of Wanganui 's points came from the boot of the side row forward and eaptain, D. Beard. One Avas a magnificent penalty from ■30 yards out. Auckland backs were hampered by fast breaking Wanganui forwards and could make little- progress against heavy tackling. For Wanganui R. Dallison and D. Grant scored tries which Beard converted. Beard also kicked three penalty goals. Gilmour -and R. L. Dobson scored for Auckland. Sorenson converted both tries.
