Waging a courageous battle against a stiff wind in the second spell Wellington won a deserved 14 — 9 victory over Auckland in what was for the most part an uninspiring display of representative Rugby at Athletic Park on Saturday. The • match might well be callcd " O 'Callaghan's match" for the Marist man scored all Wellington 's points.besides playing the best- back game on the field. Oue of the most disappointing aspects was the deplorable scruminaging, partieularly in the first sjjeli.
