WELLINGTON, Sept, 10," The first of the new daylight Limited j trains between Auckland and Wellington,. will eommenee with the departure from Auckland at 8.10 a.m. on Fiiday. 1 October 21, of the express which will reach Wellington at 9.55 p.m., said the Minister of Eailways, Mr. Semple, today. The up Limited from Wellington j will leave at 8 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, arriving at Auckland ■ at 9.40 p.m.. Further runa-' will be made on Monday, October 24, from Auckland and Tuesday, October 25, from Wellington to Auckland. The journey will take 13:} hours or one hour faster than the previous daylight expresses and the stops will be limited to Frankton' Junction, Te Kuiti, Taumarunui, Ohakune Junetion, Taihape, Marton and Palmerston North. Hostesses will be carried to assist invalids, elderly people and mothers with children. The Minister said that travelling by the South Island daylight Limited and using the North Island daylight service, it would be possible for passengers from Invercargill to Auckland to eomplete the journey of nearly 1000 miles in less than 38 hours by traiu and steamer.
