Station Cattle The brisk market for station cattle at Gisborne and Wairoa saies this week quickened in the ofilerings which numbered about 500 head. These ranged from yearling sorts to grown builocks as well as feinale cattle. Apart from one or two pens the quality was not very strong and buyers were seleetive. About half the offering found buyers at prices

which sliowed a strengthening in some instances when considering quality. Yearling steers sold from £1U -to £10 18s and 2-yr. heifers, from £9 5s to £10 6s. The recorded saies were: 32 yearling j A.A. steers at £10 18s; 35 do at £10; 65 2-yr. A.A. steers at £11 15s; 27 do at £13 2s 6d; 4 3-yr. steers at £14 10s; 11 bullbcks at £15 6s; 34 2-yr. A.A. neifers £10 6s; 32 do at £9 5s. . Fat Cattle Mixed quali'ty station female beef made up the entries in the fat cattle section when heavy .cow beef sold ai approximateiy 52s per 100 Ibs and the Dest of the neifer Deef realised' aboiu 56s per 100 Ibs. The saies were: 9 A.A. cows at £15 17s 6d; one A.A.-Hereford cross heifer £17 17s 6d; 4 young A.A. coivs and heifers £15 17s 6d; 5. A.A'. Cows (small) £14 2s 6d; 5 A.A. heifers £14 7s 6d; oue small Hereford heifer £13 10s. Ex-dairy sorts sold a « foliows: Uows £14 to £17 5s for big beast; heifers £9 12s 6d. % Dairy Cattle In the dairy cattle section the offerings were very mixed in quality but tne enquiry was quite strong.
