NATION CANDIDATE FOR WESTERN MAORI OPTIMSTC

WELLINGTON, Sept. 9. Mr Marumaru, National Party candidute for Western Maori, who was in Wellington today, has announeed the appointment of Mr Kingi P. Wetere as organiser for the district south from the Mokau River to Wellington. Mr Wetere, who is a wellknown Ngati Maniopoto chief, is a member of the King Country tribal executive and also well known in Maori football circles. He represented both King Country ann Taranaki, and was a member of the Maori team that toured England in 1935. Mr Marumaru said today that although he had not begun his meetings with the people his organisation in Western Maori was funetioning, and he had met with a most encouraging response. .
