Received Friday 8.50 p.m. ROME, Sept. 8. "Russia will never, intervene in Yugoslavia at the point of the bayonet," Signor Pietro Xenni, head ot Italv's pro-Communist Socialist Part}r said today on his return from Moscow. "Russia rejects armed in'tervention in the affiairs of other countries in support of revolutionary movements." He said the Red Army had no function other than to defend Soviet frontiers, but would stand to the last raan against any aggressor. Russia ardentlv idesired accord with the West, and was seeking to relieve the present tension among the Big Powers. Russia believed war was not inevitable and was convinced that the Sociaiist and Capitalist systems could co-exist peacefully. Signor Nenni added that he saw no unusual military preparations, and that the Russian people talked little of war and mostly of rebuilding their country. He visited Moscow as chief Italian delegate at the conferenee of Soviet "Peace Partisans. "
