Getting Ready For Health Stamp Campaign

The annual health stamp campaign will open this year. on October- 3, when it is anticipated that last year's excellent public response will be repeated. Many children throughout the Dominion have benefited from the holiday which this mon&y has made possible and the public is urged to ensure that in the future many more children will have the opportunity of regaining health and vigour by means of this campaign. This week a meeting called by the Mayor, Mr. H. B; Burdekin, set up a commitLee to plan this year's campaign In Levin. The committee is as follows: Mr. H. JB. Burdekin (chairman), Mrs. Burdekin (representing woinen's organisations), Messrs P. D. Chapman (Levin Primary School), J. C. Findlater (Horowhenua College) , W. L. Travers (Boy Scouts) , R. H. Long (Junior Chamber of Commerce) and A. V. Morgan (secretary) . The Junior Chamber will again canvass the business area prior to the opening day. The scouts will ;be making house-to-house calls on Saturday, October 8, and the women's organisations will conduct a street stall on October 3, 4 and 7. Last year Levin citizens exceeded their quota, buying slamps to the value of £672 10s. This year it is hoped to repeat that great effort. The new quota has not yet been received by the postmaster, but it is normally based on 3s 9d per householder.
