Peter Dunbar won the oratory contest conducted by the Canterbury Junior Chamber of Commerce last night. He will represent the chamber in the contest for the Stotter oratory trophy to 'be held at the nat'ional convention of Junior Chambers in palmerston North in October. Art Union Costs. Prize money was £65,000, commission on the sale of tickets was £42,794, Iottery duty was £28,649, and other expenses were £31,948. Saies of tickets reaiised £286,494. Licences for 583 raffles were issued during the year, only six being over £50 in value. , The net profit was nearly £118,000. # &
