Two Shops Broken Into
— V The premises of Messrs F. Redrup and H. Birley, in Main Street, were broken into either late on Friday night . or early on Saturday morning. It is assumed entry was efiected through a rear window of Mr. Redrup's premises and as both shops are under the same roof, it was easy for the intruder or intruders to gain access to Mr. Birley 's jewellery shop through a dividing door. Mr. Redrup's stock was ransacked and cigarettes are reported as missing. Mr. Birley apparently fared much worse, and go.d watches, rings and ear-rings are among artic.es missing. The police-are invesiigating. Later envelopes in which Mr. Birley places repair jobs, were reported to have been found near Ohau.
