August Meeting Of Women's Division
• Mrs. E. H. Barber presided over agood attendance of members at the August meeting of the Shannon branch of thp Women's Division of Federated Farmers, held recently. Mesdames E. Evans and W. J. Jennings were proposea as new members. Arrangements were discussed for the division's spring flowei show, which is to be held in the Druids' Hall on September 10 Mrs. E. H. Barber was appointe'd convener and Mrs. R. H. Chartei secretary. Mesdames C. Guerin and L. H. Best were appointed to take charge of the refreshment booth at the Shannon sale yards on the next stock sale day. Foi the following sale Mesdames J. A. Easton and H. Stern will be in charge of the booth. The usual best bloom competition resulted: — Mrs. K. Mitehell 1, Mrs. ,G. Tippler 2, Mrs. C. Stern 3. The competition for the prettiest cup and saucer was won by Mrs. K. Mitehell, with Mrs. L. H. Best second and Mrs. C. Stern third. The September meeting will be held in Laurvig's Hall, commencing at 1.30 p.m. There will be a( taik on early Shannon- and the i competitions will be for the prettiest shmb and the best shouMer spray.
