WELLINGTON, Sept. 2. Spring racing will be ushered in tomorrow when the Wanganui Jockey Club will open its meeting. Excellent fields*are carded, but form at this period of the season is always difficult to follow.
The principal event will be the Marangai ' Handieap in which several good prospects figure, sbch as recent winners in Kia Ora Katoa, Lord Hoiland, Brambie Leighpn . and" improvers in Flying Toiy Bronstar,. With Broughton up Lord Hoiland is the iikeiy favourite. The Wanganui Guineas for three-year-olas wnl be decided on the secon'd day. A line on prospects for this event shouid be forthcoming in the hack events in which several Guineas candidates are engaged. Goiden Spa will- be a greatly improved horse when he contests the Fiying Handieap. The race he had last week has brought him on nicely. Main danger for him will rest in Kia Ora Katoa, if started, Tommy Gun, Garry, Opulent and Deprive. Prospects for Wanganui, Avondale, Otago Hunt ana the second day' of the Addington Trots are:
