w • Received Wednesday, 7 p.m. ATHENRj August 31, All Greek rebel resistance in the Grammos Mountains area eollapseo early today and the. Greek army is m full control of the Greco-Albania border. A Greek General Btaff communique says that in the Grammos area Government troops captured eignt mountaiu and field guns, 10 anti-aircraft guns, four anti-tanlc guns, 60 heavy machineguns, 1358 rifles and 103 heavy and light mortars. The Free Greek radio announced tonight that on August 15 an offer to make peace with the Greek Government had been sent to thq United Nations. A memorandum for presentation to the Assemblv at Lake .Success next month, contained proposals based on suggestions by tbe Soviet Union in April, said the broadcast. The memorandum, signed by Mr. Demetrios Partsalides, President of the Provincial Free Gov.ernment, said the guerrillas wanted peace but their adversaries "want war and to eontinue the massacre."
