Before sailing fqr the United States tpday, the British Foreign .Seqretary, Mr. Ernest Bevin, said that he and Sh' Stafford Cripps wopl'd meet Canadian and American frfends qn "probably one of the most important missions in history." Mr, Bevin, who was referring to the three Power dojlar ta^s' in Washington, said: "However much we may aehieve success in political understanding, unless we can find the right answer to our, financial and economic problems we shall not have laid a souud foundation for the future peace of the world." Mr. Bevin, who was standing arm-in^arm with Sir Stafford Cripps, added: "Sir Stafford and I are leaving as a team representing a united Government — I believe representing a united nation — to try to aehieve a solution which will give all peoples, peace and prosperity. I ask the public not to expect us to find a solution in a moment. We must go on day by day and week by week burding up trust, confidence, trade exchange and security."
