Received Wednesday 8 p.m. LONDON, August 31. Three Britons seeeking pirate treasure in a "blocked cave at Mahe in the Seychelles Islands, have blasted through the rock roof in several places hut they are facing the danger of an explosion from escaping gas thought to he whale oil gas. The hunters hope to find fahulous wealth of an 18th century French pirate, Olivier le Vasseur. They say their divining instruments have indicated the presence of gold and precions stones hut have also det.ected poisonous gases which may he the legendary "hidden guardian" of the loot. When the pirate threw his treasure chart to the crowd from the gallows at Reimion Island in 1790, with the shout: "Find it who can," he warned of mysterious dangers to ,all who tried to recover it.
