Personal. Mr.' and Mrs. a. Nicholson and family, of Otaki Railway, left on Tuesday for the South Island on a short holiday. Miss Eric'a Anne Dickson, of Iti Street, was successful in winning the piano solo test (16 to 18 years) at the Wellington competitions on Monday evening. After completing a tour of the South Island, the Otaki Scholarship winner for 1949, Mr. i. Rettie, arrived at Paraparaumu yesterday morning to begin a tour of the North Island. 'Mr. Nepia Winiata, o'f Kuku, Ohau, was on Saturday elected president of the Otaki Maori Racing Club, succeeding Mr. h. McMillan, who tendere'd his resignation following a long period of office. Hockey Reps, Win Again. The Horowhenua ladies' hockey team visiting Masterton for the annual tournament is acquitting itself well and, has won the first two games played.
