Woman Injured; Husband Before Court
WHANGAREI, August 31. Charged with having assaulted his wife, &angi Conrad, aged 45, at Te Kao, Henry Conrad, aged 70, of Te Kao, appeared at Houhora Court this morning and was remanded on bail. Aecused's wife was admitted to the Kaitaia Public Hospital at an early hour this morning after having been conveyed from Te Kao, 45 miles north, by the St. John Ambulance. She is stated to be suffermg from head wounds and possible internal -injuries. The charge is understooddo have arisen from a family dispute in aecused's home at Te Kao last even- 1 ing, following which both medical' assistance and the police were summoned from Kaitaia.
