Waitarere Institute Holds Monthly Meeting
A good attendance of members marked the August meeting of the Waitarere W.I. held recently. Owing to the unavoidable absence of the president, the vice-presi-dent, Mrs. Thompson, was in the chair and extended a welcome to all, including a new member, Mrs. H. Benning. A report 011 the meeting in regard to the Levin Farm Christmas party arrangements was made by the delegate, Mrs. Hood. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Speirs and Warrington after which a housewife's quiz was conducted . by Mrs. Stanley. This prqved very popular, Mrs. Thompson gaining most points and Mrs. Coleman being runner-up. A cooking competition of gingei nuts for the English link resuitec In severai pounds being collectec for despatch. The competitior. winners were: — Ginger nuts: Mrs. Speirs 1, Mrs. Warrington 2, Mrs Millar 3. Tray cloth frorn^ floiu bag: Mrs. Jarison 1, Mrs. Warrington. 2, Mrs. Stanley 3. Mystbrj parcel: Mrs. Janson. The roll cal! for the inonth was "The Uses of a Leiiibn.^ _
