P.N. Male Voice Choir's Visit

The concert was staged by the society ixi order to he p the locai scouts and all nrofits were d?voted uo that cause. Not every seat in the ij.all was fiiled bufc the large numoer who attended were most enthusiastic ' and voted the opes whc were not pfesent as being unfor:unate in missing a realiy grand performance. The chbir appearea x'our times 'during the evening.. smging a bracket of three numbers on eaeh o.ccasion. Ta-en^ed artists supporting the choir were . Miss M. Niv'en, elocutionist, Miss A. Wiison,. mealist, Mrs. Chittenden, yio-in, and Mr. T. A. Neilson, vocalist. The conduetor of the choir was Mr. J. Bew-ley. One o,f the most outstanding ieatures of the singing of the choir was the voice control and it vas obvious to all that to ©btain such results, much training must have been necessary. The two jutsianding numbers were the choir's rendition of "Oomrades In Arms" and "Road To Mandalay.-'; Following the concert; the Mayor, Mr. H. B. Burdekin, thapkad the chqir for coming to Levin and assisting in the support oi such .a worthy cause as . that oi the Levin ' Boy Scotus. - He personally considered that the choir's renditions were outstanding and ne trusted that it would* again visit Levin. He was certain thaif a second visit was made the College Hall would not he large enough to. eope with the numbers who would want to hear it, The chairman of the Levin Boy Scout committee, Mr. L. J. Travers, also thanked the choir for its most generous action and complimented it on the excellence of the programme presented, A mgmber of ihe choir, in replying, thanked the audienee for its reception of the various items. He said that the audienee had been most responsive and had obv-iously appreciated the numbers and this made the choir feel t.hat it wquld be a pleasure to return to Levin.
