Still Resigning In Roskill Electorate
♦ ' AUCKLAND, August 21. Tlffc Roskill East branch of the Labour Party today decided to go iuto recess, being the third branch of th6 Party within the Roskill electorate to do so since the resigrration of Mr. F. Langstone, M.P. for Roskill, from tne P&rliamentary Labour Party. Announeing the decision of the Roskill East branch, the president, Mr. A. C, Monteith, said the meeting was attended by all menibers of the branch* and there was only one dissentient. The resolution carried said it was felt by membei's they could no longer continue to give active support to the Labour Party in view of its. betrayal ot the fundamental Socialist principles that constitute its very foundation. Mr. Langstone was thanked for his serviees as member for the district. All money end boolcs held by the branch are to be handed over to the Auckland Labour Representation Committee. Mr. Monteith, who is an exeeutive member of the Auckland L.R.C., also announced after the meeting his resignation"' from all positions held in the Labour Party. In a letter to be sent to the president of the committee, JVlr. Monteith statep that his family has beqij. actiyely associated with th,e Labour moven;ent for 30 years and his decision to withdraw has not been taken lightly. ■ •
