The Canterbury Jockey Club's Grand National meeting was concluded at Riccarton on Saturday and the weather was fine and the track in excellent order with the going, comparatively fast. It proved a bad day for th,e publie for,(Lady Myrtle, 2/1 in the betting, and Hazsoult, 2/2 in the betting, were th>' only well fancied winners. Zulu Boy then began to tire, and Gold Song, Detain and Minlon turned for liome together from Batal and Hunting Mac. Detain iinished well and won with ease from Batal, who beat Minlon comfortably for second place, with Gold Song lialf a length back fourth. Then came Hunting x\fac, who was never near the front, Pages Raid, Our Gold and Dawn March. Gay Eeliow was well 'plaeed when he lost his rider' about six furlongs from home.

Hazsoult led over the last fence from Bravura and Specialist, with Homespun luaking ixp ground. Hazsoult stayed 011 to win comfortably .from Bravura, who made 110 impression ou him in the ruu from the last fence. Homespun was a fair third.
