Received Bundav 7.20 p.m. NEW YORK, August 20. An Associated Press survev today sliowed that more than 15,500 people had c.ontracted infantile paralvsis in the TTnited States this year. This was more than half of the 30,000 cases recorded for the whole of 1910 which was the worst infantile paralvsis vear in the United Btates' history. Some large~cities such as New York and Boston, have been hard hit with smaller communities and rual areas faring ttlnch better. On the other hand, Ohfcago and Philadelphia were far les^ affected than areas in ofher parts of the States where'in those cities are located. At the present stagc of the butbreak only one in every 10,000 of the TJnited Btates' population has been afflicted.
